Menstruation and Spirituality with Dr Lara Owen

Lara will share insights from her lifetime experience and study of the relationship between menstruation and spirituality. The taught element of the course will consist of four sessions given on Thursday evenings (UK time) during May 2024. Each session will run for two hours. The sessions will be a mix of lecture/talk, creativity, and inner work. There will be space for Q and A, and recommendations for practices to do in between each session.

Lesson One: Transformation. Themes of fertility, shedding, power and healing. The spiritual significance of menarche. Ways to align with the transformative function of menstruation.

Lesson Two: Moon. Interwoven cycles; the moon and the womb; lunar and solar philosophies. Themes of flow, beauty, and love. The spiritual significance of the menstrual cycle.

Lesson Three: Blood. Blood and the earth; blood and vision; blood and energy. Themes of materiality, envisioning, and enlightenment. The spiritual significance of menstruation.

Lesson Four: Harvest. Taking the spiritual teachings of menstruation into your whole life. Themes of acceptance, alchemy, and renewal. The spiritual significance of menopause.

Times: Thursdays at 7 – 9 pm UK time

Access: Although it is an advantage to attend live and participate, if the class times are difficult for you, sessions will be recorded so you can watch in your own time. Recordings will remain available until a week after the final lesson.
